Street Dogs hit the studio

Punk rockers Street Dogs will be hitting the studio this month to record their newest release. After wrapping up some extensive touring with The Offspring, Alkaline Trio, Anti-Flag and hitting the UK, the guys seem to be ready to get the tracks they wrote on the road laid down.

If you haven't heard of Street Dogs, you should know they are fronted by Mick McColgan- former Dropkick Murphys singer. And! Rick Barton, original Dropkick guitarist, is going to be producing the album with Street Dogs' bassist Johnny Rioux.

The album will be recorded at the Blasting Room in Colorado. This studio was built by members of the Descendants, All and Black Flag- digging deep into punk rock roots. Basically, I'm just trying to drive the point home that this album will friggin' rule.

Bassist Johnny Rioux says
Our next and fifth record will capture the purest form of the band to date. We are making it as if it were our first record. The punk and hardcore songs will be MORE punk and hardcore. Our Celtic influence and songs will be more Celtic, the folk, folkier and so on. It's almost as if we are making records in the reverse of most bands. Ending up back at square one, and square one never sounded better. Basically, we want to make our new favorite record.

Jump on checking them out and give the video below a peep to see what's in store!
