The Sword's New Album

The Sword have been keeping themselves busy and has just finished tracking their third album. The band has let us know that they are going to have a different sound from what fans may be expecting. Exciting, aye!?

Singer J.D. Cronise says they are harking back to Guns N' Roses + Thin Lizzy + thrashy elements. So this isn't going to be your dad's Thin Lizzy. And the premise behind it? A sci-fi concept album. I'm trying to wrap my head around what this is going to sound like and not going to lie...I'm stoked about the idea.

He comments::

We are just more interested in expanding our sound for ourselves. If we wanted to expand our audience we should just remake the second album over again, rather than challenge people with something new....It's really a concept record. The songs revolve around a concept we came up with or spin off from it. It's not the kind of fantasy concept though, it's more sci-fi.

The album is still unnamed but can be expected later this year.
